Galvez Primary school counselor Mrs. Dara Thompson

Welcome! Go Pirates! I am Mrs. Dara, the school counselor. It is such a privilege to work with the students, families, and staff at Galvez Primary School.  I am a certified K-12 counselor and teacher. I am blessed to be at Galvez Primary, and I enjoy serving our students, their parents, and our wonderful staff.

As the school counselor, I address the developmental needs of all students through a comprehensive school counseling program in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development.   I love helping children work through their struggles, and also helping them find out what their strengths are so they can become leaders in the school.  My advice to anyone, is to be thankful for what you have and also take away something positive from every situation (whether it is a good or bad situation). We all have obstacles, but it is how you face those obstacles that shows your true character! Be kind to everyone and remember to SMILE…because it is contagious! Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions regarding your children and their social/emotional and academic well- being. I believe in working as a team to achieve optimal success for every student!

Leslie Lambert

Hi! I am Ms. Leslie, one of the School Counselors at Galvez Primary School. I was a teacher in Ascension Parish while I worked towards my master’s degree in Counseling. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. I am passionate about helping students grow academically, and I believe that starts with healthy social and emotional habits.

Students will receive classroom lessons to support social-emotional wellness. Students may         also participate in small groups and meet with me individually if needed. My hope is that all students feel welcome, safe, and loved at school! I am happy to be a Galvez Pirate and look forward to collaborating with guardians to help all students succeed!
